MSc in Statistics and Global MSc in Statistics Imperial College London


The Imperial College MSc in Statistics is now accepting applications. We look forward to hearing from students to join our MSc in Statistics programmes in the academic year 2021-2022. The MSc in Statistics programmes provide outstanding training both in theoretical and applied statistics.
In the Autumn term, the students need to complete our four Compulsory Modules. These four modules ensure that all students obtain advanced knowledge of probability theory and fundamentals of statistical inference as well as acquire sufficient skills to tackle the challenges of modern applied and computational statistics.
One of the highlights of the Imperial MSc in Statistics is the great variety of Elective Modules offered in the Spring term, which provide depth and exposure to the diverse range of statistical applications and methods.
In the Summer term, the MSc students work on a Statistics Research Project. This project pulls the material from the Compulsory and Elective modules together and provides students with the opportunity to work extensively on either theoretical or practical problems in Statistics.

Global MSc in Statistics:

In the academic year 2021-22 we are introducing an online degree in Statistics, named Global MSc in Statistics. The Global MSc in Statistics is a fully online degree that enables you to study our reputable Statistics course without the need to come to London.

Stream Specialisations:
Since October 2018, in addition to the general MSc in Statistics degree, we are also offering the following specialisation streams:

Applied Statistics
Biostatistics
Statistical Finance
Theory and Methods
Data Science

The formal qualification received will include the name of the specialist stream and therefore can be used to indicate to employers or future research supervisors what they have specialised in during their MSc. For example: MSc Statistics (Applied Statistics).

The 5 specialisation streams listed above are also offered as part of the Global MSc in Statistics degree.
